IP addresses

Every device on a network has an IP address — its phone number. Like 192.168.1.42 or 10.0.10.2 (yes, that second one is a real server you might know 👀).

Four numbers, 0–255 each, separated by dots. Packets carry a destination IP the way an envelope carries an address.
